As the Guyana Defence Force continues its outreach to border communities, the Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, has visited Eteringbang, a key settlement in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni region.
A release from the GDF said that Brigadier Khan met with and facilitated conversations with the business community, his soldiers and others. These interactions underscored the Force’s commitment to unity, visibility, and reassurance in Guyana’s most remote regions, especially at a time when national solidarity is paramount.
During his visit, the release said he also toured local schools where he interacted informally with students, teachers, and staff listening to their experiences and reinforcing the Defence Force’s commitment to education and youth development.
