The crescent moon marking the beginning of Ramadan 1446 has not been officially sighted, according to reports from both local and regional committees, as confirmed by Darul Uloom T&T.
“The crescent moon to commence the month of Ramadhaan 1446 AH was searched for after sunset on Friday, February 28, 2025. Reports from committees (both locally and regionally) confirm that the moon was not sighted,” Darul Uloom stated in a Facebook post.
“The Darul Uloom Moon Sighting Committee has accepted these reports and declared that the month of Sha’baan 1446 AH will complete 30 days,” the post continued.
This means the first night of Ramadan will be tomorrow night, and the first day of fasting will be on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, the crescent moon had been sighted in Saudi Arabia at the Sudair and Tumair observatories.
