
A landslide that occurred on Saturday in the Southwestern China province of Sichuan had caused a dead man, 28 missing and two injured until 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, local authorities reported.
The landslide occurred at 11:50 hours on Saturday in the village of Jinping, located in the Junlian district of the city of Yibin.
The province has mobilized 949 troops from the Armed Police, firefighters, emergency response, transport, medical services, telecommunications and other forces to carry out or help in rescue work.
More than 200 vehicles and rescue equipment, including excavators, fire trucks and ambulances, have participated in rescue operations in the place. Search and rescue efforts are being carried out in the area, which has been divided into 10 blocks.
A total of 360 people in 95 homes have been evacuated. Temporary shelters have been installed to house 162 people today.
