The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) on Friday said that it had been unable to find the person accused of racially abusing artist Ivor Thom on September 7th last year.
As a result, it said in a statement that the matter has been brought to a close. The statement was dated February 14th but only received by Stabroek News yesterday. The release was apparently however sent to the state-owned Guyana Chronicle on Friday.
In the statement, the ERC said that it had “taken diligent and relentless steps to address the matter, yet, unfortunately, all attempts to identify the accused have proven unsuccessful”.
