
During two land patrol operations, LBy Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) destroyed three camps that were used for illegal mining in the Amazon state, the institution’s strategic operational commander, Domingo Hernández Lárez, said Sunday.
Through a publication in its social network X, the official explained that the first camp was found in an area of the Yapacana National Park, where they found an inoperative power plant, two mat matches, two pairs of boots, a mat, a refrigerator and others objects and materials that were destroyed.

They also destroyed two illegal mining camps in another operation, where they found a six -cylinder engine, 30 meters of carpet, a 100 -liter drum of diesel fuel, four diver costumes, ten meters of high pressure hose and other materials.
The head of the CEOFANB stressed that these actions are part of the Operation Neblina 2025, which has been launched in Amazonas since 2024 to protect natural spaces, national monuments, forest and biosphere reserves.
Hernández Lárez recalled that mining and the exploitation of hydrocarbons are prohibited by law in Amazonas and that national parks and forest areas, under special protection of the State, must be protected by all.
