Two-time NBA Champion, Finals MVP, and Hall of Famer Hakeem ‘the Dream’ Olajuwon is set to arrive in Guyana this evening following an invitation from the Government of Guyana.
The first-round pick in the 1984 draft, the Nigerian-born Olajuwon, 62, led the Houston Rockets to consecutive titles in 1994 and 1995. The towering centre, who is known for his footwork and regarded as one of the greatest players ever, is set to share his knowledge with the Guyana Basketball Federation tomorrow at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Olajuwon, who is also an Olympic gold medallist with the USA at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, also played for the Toronto Raptors in a career that ended in 2002.
