
THE body of a man was found on the shore of Damien Bay, Blanchisseuse this afternoon.
His severed head was placed next to his body.
Police have so far been unable to identify him.
Around 2 pm officers of the Blanchisseuse Police Station received an anonymous call about the body.
When they arrived on the scene, they found the head and body of the man who appeared to be his early to mid-20s, with a slim to medium build.
His hands had also been tied behind his back.
The man had dreadlocks.
Police said the body appeared have chop wounds on the chest and back.
The body was clad in three-quarter pants and underwear.
Officers from the Blanchisseuse Police Station secured the scene until the arrival of detectives from the Region One Homicide Bureau.
The scene was examined following which the body was moved to a mortuary in Champs Fleurs.
The murder toll for 2025 now stands at 34, compared to 50 during the same period last year.
Trinidad and Tobago has been under a State of Emergency since December 30.
