A meeting took place in the emblematic vertical gymnasium of Carbonell, located in the Sucre Parish of Catia, where the visit of the renowned Japanese architect, Riken Yamamoto by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, was received. The event served as a platform for an exchange of experiences around the community organization model that characterizes the region.
During the visit, the architectural significance of this important sports space was highlighted, opened in 2014, and it was explained how its design is integrated into the social fabric of the community.
The meeting allowed to deepen the vision of consolidating “more human cities” for the people, said Rodríguez, where good living is a reality for all its inhabitants. The conversation with Riken Yamamoto enriched the perspective on the importance of urban planning and architectural design in the construction of more inclusive and participatory communities.
