KNDS and Texelis announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to begin exclusive negotiations for KNDS France to acquire Texelis’ Defense business. The proposed acquisition would involve separating Texelis into two distinct entities: Texelis Défense and Texelis Transport.
Texelis, a French company specializing in land mobility solutions for armored vehicles, plays a key role as a subcontractor in the French defense industry. The company supplies parts and heavy vehicle power trains for the French Army’s armored vehicles and has collaborated with KNDS France on the SERVAL program, developing mobility solutions for various vehicle types. A key program for Texelis is its involvement in the French Army’s Scorpion program, providing mobility solutions for the Griffon multi-role armored vehicle and the Jaguar reconnaissance and combat vehicle.
Texelis is known for its work in hybridization and energy management for armored vehicles. Following the potential acquisition, Texelis’ Transport business would remain under the control of its current management and investors.
Texelis employs 350 people and reported sales of approximately EUR110 million ($115 million) in 2023. The company has a production site in Limoges and a branch at the KNDS France site in Roanne.
