During the transmission of his Maduro Live program, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, revealed that declassified documents of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), show that the Venezuelan extremist opponent and fugitive from justice , Juan Guaidó, received more than 700 million dollars between 2017 and 2019, destined for alleged humanitarian aid and development projects that were not executed.
“There are more than 700 million. In the documents they say he claimed that they had to take away humanitarian aid to all NGOs that were proposed by the UN, or subsidized by the UN, and just give them to whom he said,” he said.
In this regard, the national president explained that, according to the documents, 260 million dollars were assigned for humanitarian assistance, while 247 million were allocated to development projects. However, he said that these resources were never used for established purposes. Also, President Maduro also added that another 200 million were delivered to a fund called “Development Fund.”
“But they also gave 200 million a fund they called the Development Fund,” he said.
Additionally, the Head of State stressed that this figure adds to the resources managed by the opposition through Citgo, the PDVSA subsidiary in the United States, which generated more than 5 billion dollars in profits not delivered to the country during the last five years. In turn, he directly accused opposition leaders such as Leopoldo López, Julio Borges and Juan Guaidó to be involved in the management of these funds.
“This figure adds to what it obtained for the theft of Citgo, a company that has more than $ 5 billion in utilities not delivered, these last 5 years,” he said.
Along the same lines, the dignitary questioned the use of the money of US taxpayers, noting that it is employed by the USAID to finance what he described as acts of corruption linked to the Venezuelan opposition.
“Over time everything will come to light,” he said.
Finally, President Nicolás Maduro mentioned instructions given to USAID workers in Washington, not to present himself to work, linking this action with the recent declassification of information about the case.
