WILLEMSTAD – Parking meters in the heart of Willemstad, specifically in the districts of Punda and Otrobanda, experienced software issues this morning. The supplier, Flowbird, has now resolved the malfunction, and no wheel clamps will be placed today.
Flowbird, an international company specializing in parking solutions, installed 44 StradaPAL solar-powered parking meters in Willemstad in October 2024. These modern terminals offer flexible payment options, including contactless payments, Smart One cards, and the FlowbirdApp E.Wallet.
This morning’s software issue temporarily affected the operation of the meters, leading to a temporary suspension of parking enforcement in the affected areas. While parking attendants resumed inspections this afternoon, no wheel clamps are being placed.
