Police are investigating a report of malicious damage after a Tacarigua man, who spent a Valentine’s Day night out with his wife, discovered his car on fire hours after returning home.
According to police reports, around 9 pm yesterday, the 42-year-old man returned home from the night out, parked his white Nissan B15 Sentra in his garage, locked all the doors and windows, and went to bed.
Around 12.45 am today, he was awoken by popping noises coming from the garage area, he told police.
Upon checking, he saw his car on fire.
He called for help and managed to extinguish the flames.
The officers said they visited the scene, where several areas were pointed out, and certain information was received.
