Minister of Youth Development and National Service, Foster Cummings, says the Shade House project is a success.
Speaking at a pilot project to plant four varieties of Ghanaian yams in Chaguaramas on Thursday, the Youth Development Minister said more than 1,300 youths are already participating in the Shade House Project.
“We intend as well to expand the Shade House project. Cabinet has already approved the construction of an additional sixteen shade houses, which will bring our complement to twenty shade houses. Ladies and gentlemen, with our youth cooperative that will be functioning from this location, once those shade houses come into operation, the supply of fresh produce and vegetables to the hotel industry, to the supermarket industry, will be phenomenal.”
