WILLEMSTAD – Minister Javier Silvania announced plans to honor the late Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) politician Amerigo Thodé through a new construction project. On Wednesday afternoon, contracts will be signed with various contractors for the building of a new residential complex named Kas Amerigo Thodé.
This housing development is designed to provide safe and supportive living accommodations specifically for people with intellectual disabilities. Residents will benefit from a secure and supervised environment tailored to their needs.
Amerigo Constantino Maria Thodé (Amsterdam, July 27, 1950 – Willemstad, December 14, 2023) was a prominent member of the Curaçao Parliament representing MFK. He served as the party’s parliamentary leader and held the position of Parliament President in 2012 and again in 2017 for brief periods.
The project aims to honor Thodé’s legacy by contributing to the community with a facility that supports some of its most vulnerable members.
