The Police Service Commission (PSC) is facing legal action after failing to comply with a pre-action protocol letter sent by Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher, to rescind her suspension.
Mrs. Harewood-Christopher’s Attorney, Senior Counsel Pamela Elder, called on the PSC to rescind her suspension and withdraw its letter no later than 2pm on Tuesday, February 4th.
She said failure to comply would result in Judicial Review proceedings against the Commission.
When TTT News reached out to Ms. Elder after the 2pm deadline on Tuesday, she said the PSC has only acknowledged receipt of the pre-action letter and as such, they will “continue with what they have to do.”
The Commissioner of Police was arrested and questioned by police last Thursday in connection with the illegal procurement of high-powered rifles. She was subsequently released from police custody.
