A penthouse described as the “epitome of perfection” has gone on sale with a record-breaking asking price of $38.8 million.
The three-level, 5.5-bedroom apartment named The Pearl is located on Seven Mile Beach in The WaterMark building, which is scheduled for completion later this year and contains 51 luxury residences.
While other apartments are on the market for a ‘mere’ $14 million — which will get you a four-bedroom corner apartment — The Pearl is financially and literally on another level, located at the top of the 10-storey building.
The triplex apartment boasts 22-foot high ceilings and balconies on every corner, which, on a clear day, will serve up panoramic views of the ocean from Rum Point to George Town.
All five bedrooms have walk-in closets, dressing rooms and en-suite bathrooms, while the kitchen comes with a back-of-house chef’s kitchen and servery. There’s also a bar sculpted from black marble in the beach-front lounge, a library and a separate family room.
Rooftop infinity pool
Topping off the luxury abode is a rooftop terrace with outdoor dining and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean.
The apartments will be built close to Public Beach between the Avalon and Harbour Heights condominium developments.
At 10,000 square feet, this luxury abode comes in at $3,880 per square foot and is described by RE/MAX as “exuding refinement like never seen before in the Cayman Islands”.
Unique to the Caribbean
Owners and residents at The WaterMark, an opulent condo building developed by Fraser Wellon, will also have access to a luxury gym, a boardroom, a wine library, a 16,000-square-foot luxury spa, guest suites, a private cinema, private dining rooms, a fine-dining restaurant and several swimming pools.
RE/MAX owner and broker Kim Lund told the Compass, “It could be ten years before we see another property like this. Not only is it unique to the Cayman islands, it’s unique to the Caribbean.”
The $177 million WaterMark building was given planning permission in 2018. The 10-storey beachside complex will be linked by a new pedestrian bridge over West Bay Road to a three-storey building featuring a restaurant, a spa and guest suites.
