Grenada Electricity Services Ltd regrets to inform our valued customers that service has been disrupted this morning as our Grenada Technical and Allied Workers’ Union (GTAWU) employees have not reported to work.
As a result and due to this most unfortunate action on the part of these employees, some of our services will be delayed and/or suspended. In addition, service at our Grand Anse and Bruce Street Customer Care Centres will be slower than usual, and our Grenville office will remain closed for the day.
While we respect the rights of our employees, this unauthorised action is unfortunate and not in keeping with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. While there has been no communication from the Union as to the cause for this action, we remain committed to following the established dispute resolution process and urge all parties to do the same.
As an essential service, Grenlec is actively working to minimise the impact of this disruption and to restore normal service as quickly as possible and we remain committed to providing an exceptional customer experience to our Tri-island State.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this matter may cause and appreciate you our valued customers’ patience during this time.
We will provide further updates as the situation unfolds.
