A 26-year-old man, who was arrested last month during the State of Emergency for possession of a firearm and ammunition, was shot dead last night.
The deceased has been identified as Aaron Lallan.
According to police reports, Lallan had informed family members of threats made against his life, which stemmed from an altercation earlier in the year with someone known to him. In December 2024, he was reportedly shot at but managed to escape unharmed.
Around 9:25 p.m. last night, a woman who was bathing in her St. Mary’s Village, South Oropouche home, heard three loud gunshots from the front of the house. When she went outside to check, she found Lallan lying motionless in the yard, suffering from gunshot wounds to his body.
Officers later recovered bullets from three different guns at the scene.
