
ONE week after the body of 21-year-old Savanna Dyer was found, a Port of Spain man has been charged with her murder.
Kibwe Wells, 21, a security officer of Quarry Street, East Dry River, East Port of Spain, was charged with the murder of Dyer on Saturday after Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal instructed the police.
He was charged by officers of the Region Three Homicide Bureau and is expected to appear in the South Court B, San Fernando.
A second man was also detained last week but up to last night he was still at the St Ann’s Hospital where he had been taken shortly after he went to the Region One Homicide Bureau, Port of Spain.
The first suspect was detained around 11 p.m. on June 16 at his home at Quarry Street, East Dry River, Port of Spain, by a contingent of officers from the Port of Spain Task Force.
One week before on June 14, Dyer, of River Estate, Diego Martin, was found along Xeres Road in Carlsen Field after officers from the Freeport Police Station responded to a call around 7.10 a.m.
Dyer was an employee of business process outsourcing company iQor Trinidad located in Barataria.
