
The East Coast Mash Cup delivered an electrifying night of football action on Saturday at the Golden Grove Community Ground; Victoria Kings beat Fruta Conquerors to take the title, while Ann’s Grove defeated Airy Hall securing third place.
In the first game, with an enthusiastic crowd in attendance, the third-place playoff and final provided excitement, drama, and moments of brilliance. In an action-packed, third-place encounter, Ann’s Grove United FC narrowly defeated Airy Hall Stars FC 5-4 in a high-scoring spectacle. Ann’s Grove took control early, with Shaquan Joseph opening the scoring in the 24th minute. However, Airy Hall responded swiftly through Omar Williams, who struck twice in quick succession (26th and 29th minutes) to give his team the advantage. Ann’s Grove quickly regained their momentum as Kenard Halley (31’) and Duwrod Wilson (41’) found the back of the net to reclaim the lead before halftime.
