A family lime in Penal on Sunday turned deadly after a 65-year-old woman was shot in the neck.
Quintin Marcano of Cameron Hill, Maraval, died on arrival at the Siparia Health Facility.
Police said around 5:30 pm, Marcano was liming with relatives and friends in a shed at Rochard Road when they heard several gunshots from across the road. They then saw a man wearing a ski mask running away.
A private vehicle took Marcano to the health facility, but doctors pronounced her dead at 5:53 pm.
Police have not yet established a motive.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 are investigating.
