
Yung Bredda (Akhenaton Lewis) and Squeezy Rankin (Anthony La Fleur) have qualified for one of the toughest challenges a calypsonian can face—the semifinal of the National Calypso Monarch Competition, set for next Saturday at Skinner Park, San Fernando.
This was revealed moments ago as the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO) announced the 40 calypsonians who have qualified for the Calypso Semifinal.
Also among the semifinalists are former monarchs Duane Ta’Zyah O’Connor, Helon Francis, Karene Asche, Kurt Allen, Morel Peters, Roderick Gordon, and Terri Lyons.
Machel Montano won the Calypso Monarch title last year.
