-cites concerns with leadership, treatment of women
Longstanding member of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), Amna Ally yesterday told Stabroek News that she has resigned from the party over concerns with its leadership and the treatment of women within the organization.
Ally’s resignation came on the heels of the departure of another party stalwart Vanessa Kissoon, who cited personal reasons for her action.
In a letter dated March 2, 2025, addressed to PNCR Leader Aubrey Norton and seen by this newspaper, Ally, a former PNCR General Secretary and former Minister of Government, expressed regret over her decision but stated that she could no longer support the party under its current leadership.
