Moca.- The National Institute of Forensic Sciences confirmed that the decomposed body found in La Soledad belongs to Alfred Joel Fernández, the taxi driver who had been missing since January 22. His identity was initially recognized by a relative based on his clothing, but forensic analysis is still underway to determine the cause of death.
Fernández disappeared after taking a service in Moca, prompting an extensive search that lasted over 40 days. Specialized teams, including canine units and advanced technology from the 911 Emergency Response System, were deployed to search remote areas.
With this confirmation, the investigation now focuses on uncovering the circumstances surrounding his death. The case has deeply affected the Moca community, particularly fellow taxi drivers, who are demanding justice.
