For the second time in just a few days, individuals in cars on Piccadilly Street have reported being robbed by bandits.
In the latest incident a 68-year-old man from Trincity was robbed of a gold bracelet yesterday while driving along Piccadilly Street, Port of Spain.
According to police reports, around 5.30 p.m., the man was driving his Toyota Corolla along Piccadilly Street when he came to a stop at the corner of Duke Street.
While stopped, two men approached the vehicle. One of the men grabbed the victim’s right wrist and stole his gold bracelet, valued at $3,000, while the other tried unsuccessfully to open the front passenger door.
Both suspects then fled the scene.
This incident follows a similar robbery on Friday, when a 16-year-old girl was also robbed of her gold bracelet while sitting in the back seat of her mother’s Honda Vezel.
The suspect also tried but failed to snatch her gold chain.
He then ran away.
