A young driver seemed to have escaped serious injury when his 2011 Subaru Impreza motorcar ran off the road along Chesterfield Drive in Seaview Gardens, St Andrew and ended up on its roof, shortly before 7:00 Saturday morning.
The vehicle, which was extensively damaged, was later removed by a wrecker.
The driver, 28-year-old Azrel Chambers, told Observer Online that he was heading from the direction of Marcus Garvey Drive, was unfamiliar with the road and failed to properly negotiate the corner after he encountered a huge pothole that sits right on the bend. He tried to swing from the pothole, which residents and motorists have complained about for months, and ended up in bushes.
The police and an alleged eyewitness who said she was driving behind Chambers, said speeding, and being unfamiliar with the road, likely played a part in the accident.
