
The opposition leader of Venezuela María Corina Machado said Sunday that the government of Nicolás Maduro, who swore on January 10 as president for a third consecutive six -year period, after her questioned re -election last July, represents a “threat to the security of the hemisphere” .

(…) Venezuela will be free »he wrote in X the former deputy, who claims the victory of the opponent Edmundo González Urrutia in the presidential elections of July 28, despite the fact that the Chavista was the proclaimed candidate winning by the National Electoral Council (CNE), controlled by rectors related to Chavismo.
In Machado’s opinion, who did not explanations about his statement, the future of democracy and stability of the region “will be defined with the struggle” in the Caribbean country and “outside of it.”

For its part, the greatest opposition coalition -the Democratic Unitary Platform (Pud)- claims to have collected 85.18% of the “electoral records” that they prove- insists- that the winner was his candidate, González Urrutia, documents that Chavismo indicates as false.
