The Ministry of Housing and Water, through the Central Housing and Planning Authority, last evening said that its annex at 42 Croal and United Nations Place had been broken into and ransacked but all records remain intact and nothing valuable has been lost.
In a press release, the ministry said that yesterday morning staff arrived at work to find that the Annex had been ransacked. The building houses the Community Development Department. Contrary to reports from some media outlets, the Ministry’s headquarters at Brickdam and United Nations Place was not broken into, the release said.
The ministry said that the incident appears to be a random act of burglary as a lone suspect was captured on CCTV entering the premises.
