
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, analyzed together with part of her government cabinet the response to entry into force at the first minute of this Tuesday of 25 percent tariffs that the United States (USA) imposed on Mexican products.
In addition, officials of the Ministry of Economy were present, including Vidal Llerenas Morales, Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce, and Luis Rosendo Gutiérrez, Undersecretary of Foreign Trade.
After concluding the meeting in Palacio Nacional, the Undersecretary Llerenas Morales limited himself to expressing that there is “optimism” against US tariffs.
President Sheinbaum is expected to issue an official pronouncement in the daily press conference offered in the morning.
Previously, the head of state assured that Mexico has a stable economic situation, highlighting that they have made an important tax and job generation collection, so she called to have patience and temperance to Trump’s announcements.
“In this we must have tempering, serenity and patience. And we have plan A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan D, then we are going to wait today, ”said Sheinbaum.
The president did not rule out that she could sustain a direct dialogue with her American counterpart. “Everything is possible,” he said.
