Donate to the History and Public Policy Program Today
For over 25 years, the Wilson Center’s History and Public Policy Program has led a movement to internationalize the study of contemporary history and to bring important new historical findings into scholarly and public debates.
Our work to spur historical research and discussion on the Cold War, nuclear proliferation, Chinese foreign policy, North Korea and Northeast Asia, and other topics is more robust than ever. In 2016 alone, the History and Public Policy Program has:
- published hundreds of diplomatic records from Burma, China, Lebanon, South Africa, Vietnam, South Korea, and many other countries through DigitalArchive.org;
- seized unexpected opportunities in the Russian archives to obtain thousands of pages of previously unreleased documents;
- trained more than 50 emerging experts through the Asia-Pacific Nuclear History Institute, the Summer Institute on Conducting Archival Research, the Nuclear History Boot Camp, and other tuition-free seminars;
- broadened the thematic and geographic scope of our research through new initiatives on Sport in the Cold War, the history of intelligence, the Cold War in the Middle East, and the space race;
- convened the first ever conference on nuclear history held in Pakistan;
- bridged the gap between historians and the general public through our weekly Washington History Seminar series;
While the Program’s award-winning Digital Archive, publications, and events are—and will always be—provided to you for free, maintaining our online platforms and publishing cutting-edge research requires significant resources. Donations from individuals, no matter what size, ensure the continued success of our work.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Wilson Center’s History and Public Policy Program online (please select “History and Public Policy Program” from the designation drop-down) or by check before the end of 2016.
Thank you for your continued support of the History and Public Policy Program.
