
NANNY CAY, Tortola, VI—The 2024 Golden Hind Chandlery Commodore’s Race, held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, brought the curtains down on this year’s racing calendar in spectacular fashion witnessing a strong turnout with four trimarans and two monohulls competing in two exciting races.
In the trimaran class, Ting a Ling emerged victorious, securing two first-place finishes. Similarly, RIP dominated the monohull class with a flawless performance, claiming two consecutive wins, a press release from the Royal BVI Yacht Club said.
The day’s competition began with a Windward-Leeward course, followed by a longer and more challenging race that took sailors around Dead Chest Island.
10 youth sailors raced aboard Triple Jack
A key highlight of the activity was the participation of 10 young sailors, who were given the unique opportunity to race aboard Triple Jack, thanks to the generosity of Richard and the Triple Jack team.
Golden Hind Chandlery was instrumental in providing prizes, while Riteway contributed champagne for the celebrations with special gratitude also being extended to the race committee—whose efforts ensured the smooth execution of the event.
