ST JAMES, Jamaica — A mother and her six-year-old son have been rendered homeless following a fire at their home in the Estuary housing scheme on Tuesday morning.
They managed to escape the house without injuries but lost most of their belongings.
The fire, which started just after 7:00 am, caused major damage to the structure and contents.
The Fire Brigade reported that they received the call about 7:34 am and responded with two units from the Montego Bay station.
Firefighters managed to contain the blaze, but not before it had caused extensive damage.
Investigators from the Brigade have been deployed to the scene.
