That is why she was busy shortly after the fire to wrist colleagues for a benefit event. “We hope that the money can start with the foundation for a new building.” At the moment the pupils of Balletschool Charlotte Sprangers Lesson follow at Theater Thalia.
Cooperated free of charge

Lilian Sprangers is happy and grateful that many colleagues have worked to make the reconstruction of her mother Charlotte’s school possible. “I thought it was great to see so many artists on one stage. I could feel the love and warmth of all dancers, colleagues and the enthusiastic audience. “
At the show, the most famous dance schools in Suriname have participated freelessly with hip hop, contemporaine, ballet, freestyle and modern dance techniques. In addition to the dance performances, there was a drummer.
During the performance, images were shown from former students, who told about their special experience with Charlotte Sprangers, who set up the school 48 years ago. She had to tear away a tear during the show.
Morroy: “One of the dancers told me it tastes like more. The aim of this performance was to be solidarity with each other, but I think if we once Just for Fun Want to organize something together, it must be possible. Because we have one thing in common: the love and passion for music. “
Preparatory work
With the reconstruction of the ballet school on Nassylaan, the many preparatory work will only be started in October. Lilian about this: “For example, you have to collect many documents, have a building plan made and apply for a permit and that will take some time.” The daughter has taken over the school from her mother Charlotte, a well -known ballerina from the Dutch Scapino Ballet and the Surinamese National Ballet.
Sprangers heard from a former teacher that there was a need for ballet teachers in Suriname. Through a Dutch foundation, she had the opportunity to go to Paramaribo for two years. She did that too, but did not return. On October 3, 1976 she started her own school. In 2007, daughter Lilian took over the lead. Mother Charlotte is still busy, but especially in the background.
